Mat Pilates Teacher

Type: Part-time contractor
Location: Toronto, ON
Availability: Substitute with the potential for 2 days per week, including weekends
Compensation: $60 - 85+ per class

  • We're seeking experienced Mat Pilates instructors to lead in-person and virtual classes. In this role, you'll create a nurturing, BIPOC-centered, and trauma-informed environment for our community. 

    Your classes will cater to a diverse range of participants, from intimate groups to large corporate audiences. You'll work closely with our educators and Programming Manager to deliver exceptional experiences.

  • Before and After Class

    • Arrive 15 minutes early to assist with room setup, warmly greet attendees, and address any pre-class inquiries.

    • Aid in the check-in process as required.

    • Address post-class questions. 

    • Assist with room breakdown.


    Teaching Responsibilities

    • Teach in-person and virtual classes to The Villij community.

    • Plan classes with wisdom and depth.

    • Cultivate a positive and comfortable atmosphere for participants.

    • Deliver a well-rounded experience, including a thorough warm-up, engaging class content, and a grounded 'Villij Closing’.

    • Demonstrate proper form safely and effectively, offering guidance tailored to individual attendees and considering safety and risk factors.

    • Provide modifications catering to all experience levels and abilities.


    Promotion and Community Engagement

    • Actively promote upcoming classes, events and workshops.

    • Contribute to maintaining and expanding The Villij community.

    • Demonstrate a strong commitment to assisting others in achieving their health and fitness goals.

    • Serve as a Brand Ambassador, ensuring that the brand image is upheld and positively portrayed at all times.

    • Experience of investing in your wellness journey, and for this reason, you genuinely enjoy to help people do the same. 

    • An appreciation for the art of hosting and making people feel at home.

    • Mat Pilates Teacher Training Certification with 1-3 years of preferred group teaching experience.

    • Must be CPR and First Aid Certified.

    • Professional Liability Insurance.

    • Enjoyment in building community and sharing your Pilates journey and work with your audience on social media.

Yoga Teacher
